Are you a vet that believes that we have an important role to play in the families that make up our local community?
Do you want to experience a wide and varied case load and work within an experienced team? A team that works closely together to provide the best care possible for our patients?
Are you a new or recent graduate? We'll provide you with the mentorship and support to become a valued and productive family vet in our community.
If you're a more experienced vet we look forward to hearing about the new skills you can bring to our team. Some of our areas of focus are:
- fear free practice (we all strive to practice fear free and would expect this of you too)
- cat friendly hospital care for feline companions. cats are not just small dogs and make up an important component of our practice.
- Advanced dental care. things like dental radiography, nerve blocks and interventions to prevent periodontal disease are standard in our practice. There is scope to improve the level of care even further with procedures such as root canals.
Our expectations of you:
- Qualified veterinary practitioner registered with the NSW VPB
- willing to work one weekend in three which involves afterhours on call duty for the weekend
- 1 night during the week on call
- Our days (Monday to Friday) are 8:30am to 6pm with a 30 minute lunch break so typical days are 9 hours
- As the job title says you can work part time or full time, it's up to you! The minimum you would work would be 2 weekdays per week but the one in three weekends is optional
- We expect you to work cohesively with our team and co-operate with other team members to get the job done. Our nurses are highly trained and competent and we have a high nurse to vet ratio to allow you to get on with being a vet
- You would need to be within around 30 minutes of the practice for afterhours work.
What is the afterhours like?
- to be honest it's generally pretty light
- We have a phone message to try and filter out non-essential calls
- Our average for most weeks is 2-3 afterhours visits over the week (including weekends) so most nights on call you won't have any visits.
