Mel

Melissa (Mel) was born in Fiji and grew up in Sydney, graduating from Sydney University Veterinary Science in 1993. She initially worked as a mixed animal Vet in Queensland and in the Snowy Mountains, but had been living and working as a small animal vet in Wodonga (and Albury) for nearly the past 20 years until coming to work for us in 2015. Mel grew up with many of her own pets and Devon Rex cats have a special place in her heart.

Mel currently lives with her 3 kids, 2 cats and 2 dogs, quite a full household although she really wants a Devon Rex kitten! Mel has special interest and experience in soft tissue surgery and animal medicine. However, she really just enjoys meeting you and your pets and helping in any way she can. She is a firm believer in the strength of the 'human-animal bond', and the importance of quality of life for owners and their furry, feathered and scaled family members.

She enjoys spending time with her kids outdoors, walking, mountain bike riding, fishing and gardening. She is part of Southern Light Sistars Choir and played the flute since she was 10! Mel looks forward to meeting you, and caring for your pets.
