An overactive thyroid gland is a common problem in older cats. Weightloss despite having an increased appetite is the classical syndrome but it’s possible to detect this disease before this even occurs and stop it in it’s tracks.

Hyperthyroidism is a common illness in older cats that can be detected early and treated easily.

If you have an cat over 9 years of age make sure you schedule them for a 6 monthly checkup and a yearly blood test which includes a thyroid level.
