Chelsea Mitchell is a passionate and skilled Veterinary Nurse, who has been a part of the veterinary world since 2017. A graduate of TAFE Yallah, Chelsea brings a wealth of knowledge with her Certificate 3 in Animal Studies and Certificate 4 in Veterinary Nursing.
Her journey in veterinary care began with work experience during her school years, leading to a traineeship and various roles in different practices. Chelsea has been a valuable member of the Companion Animal Veterinary Hospital (CAVH) team for the last two years, where her special interests in surgical and medical nursing truly shine. She has a particular talent for taking bloods, placing IV catheters, and taking radiographs.
What Chelsea loves most about her job is the time she spends around animals, understanding their conditions and providing them with love and care akin to what they receive from their owners. At home, Chelsea’s heart is just as full, with 3 dogs, 1 cat, 2 rabbits, and 2 horses. She has a special place in her heart for "the broken ones" – animals with health conditions and defects. A notable story is about her dog Russell, who was surrendered with a poor prognosis due to a heart condition. Defying the odds, Russell celebrated his first birthday, exemplifying Chelsea’s dedication to animal care.
Outside of work, Chelsea enjoys reading, beach outings, and horse riding. Her fast reading skills are quite remarkable, allowing her to finish at least one book in a day!
Chelsea was drawn to CAVH due to its exceptional reputation and the fear-free approach to animal care. The clinic's ethos and her previous work experience with Dr. Kate and Dr. Kristin at another clinic solidified her decision to join the team.
Her connection to the community extends through her late aunt, who was a client of CAVH. Chelsea took on her aunt's cavalier, Belle, after her aunt's passing, and was touched to find that the staff at CAVH fondly remembered both her aunt and Belle.
Chelsea Mitchell is more than just a Veterinary Nurse; she is a dedicated animal lover, a skilled professional, and a cherished member of the CAVH team.
