Protect your dog from paralysis ticks

Hey there, pet parents! It's Matt from Companion Animal Veterinary Hospital. Today, I'm going to walk you through a simple yet essential task – applying Bravecto Spot-On to your dog. This spot-on treatment is a fantastic way to protect your furry friend from fleas and ticks for up to six months. Let's get started!

Step-by-Step Guide to Applying Bravecto Spot-On

  1. Unpackaging: First things first, grab the Bravecto package and a pair of scissors. Inside the box, you'll find a plastic packet that contains the pipette. Use the scissors to cut the top off this packet and take out the pipette.

  2. Preparing the Pipette: It's important to note that the cap on the pipette does not come off. Instead, you simply twist it around. This action breaks the seal but keeps the cap in place. The medication will come out from the tip of the pipette.

  3. Applying to Your Dog: Now, it's time to apply the treatment to your dog. Focus on the skin at the back of the neck. If your dog has long hair, make sure to part the hair so you can reach the skin. Gently squeeze the pipette, ensuring the liquid is applied directly to the skin and doesn’t run off.

  4. Ensuring Full Coverage: For the best protection, ensure that the entire content of the pipette is applied to your dog's skin. This will provide them with six months of protection against fleas and ticks.

Tips for a Smooth Application

  • Keep Your Dog Calm: Make sure your dog is relaxed and comfortable before starting the application. Treats and gentle petting can help keep them calm.
  • Apply in a Suitable Environment: Choose a quiet and well-lit area where your dog feels at ease.
  • Be Precise: Aim for the skin, not the fur, to ensure the medication is absorbed effectively.
  • Monitor Your Dog: After application, keep an eye on your dog for a short while to ensure they don’t rub off the medication.

Conclusion

Applying Bravecto Spot-On is a straightforward process that plays a crucial role in keeping your dog safe from pesky parasites. Remember, consistent protection is key to maintaining your dog's health and happiness.
