Veterinary Nurse

Growing up with dogs and cats, Sarah always wanted to work with animals and help care for them. She first imagined becoming a vet, but a high-school work placement introduced her to veterinary nursing and helped her find the path she wanted to follow. She joined Companion Animal in June 2026, drawn to a local, family-run practice that cares about both animals and their people.

For Sarah, nursing means helping families feel welcome and heard, as well as caring for their pets. She takes time to answer questions and understand what’s worrying them. Supporting families as they say goodbye to a beloved pet is especially meaningful to her, and she values being able to offer comfort at a difficult time. She also particularly enjoys assisting in surgery and seeing clients and their pets in nurse consultations.

Outside the hospital, Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, and shares her home with three cats: Bear, Dustin and Evie. She also loves horses and horse riding.
