There is nothing quite like the energy of Graduation Day at Companion Animal Veterinary Hospital! This March, we celebrated another wonderful group of puppies (and their humans) completing our four-week Puppy Preschool program.

From tiny Terriers to bouncy Border Collies, our “Class of 2026” has worked hard on their socialisation, manners, and most importantly building a lifelong bond with their owners.

More Than Just "Sit" and "Stay"

When owners search for “Puppy school near me,” they are often looking for basic obedience. But at our Dapto clinic, we go much deeper. Our positive reinforcement curriculum focuses on:

  • The “Settle”: Teaching puppies how to relax in a busy environment (like a local cafe).
  • Fear-Free Handling: Helping puppies feel comfortable being touched, making future vet check-ups a breeze.
  • Safe Socialisation: Understanding “dog language” so they can play politely at the park.

Spotlight on Our March Stars

Luna the Cavoodle: The Social Butterfly

Luna started week one feeling a little shy, hiding under her owner’s chair. By week four, she was the first to offer a “target touch” and showed incredible progress in her loose-lead walking.

Baxter the Kelpie: The High Achiever

As a high-energy breed, Baxter needed a “job” to do. His owners excelled at using food enrichment and positive reinforcement to help him find his “off switch,” even when surrounded by his classmates.

Daisy the Bulldog: The Queen of "Wait"

Daisy proved that patience is a virtue! She became our class champion at the “Wait for your bowl” challenge, demonstrating amazing self-control for such a young pup.

Why Choose Our Puppy Preschool in Dapto?

Choosing the right puppy preschool in Dapto is about more than just convenience. Because our classes are held within our veterinary hospital, your puppy learns to associate our clinic with treats, play, and praise.

  • Canine Behaviour Experts: Our classes are led by experienced nurses who understand the “critical socialisation window” (3 to 14 weeks of age).
  • Safe & Sterile: Unlike parks, our training room is fully disinfected, ensuring your puppy is safe from parvovirus while their vaccinations are still being completed.
  • Lifetime Support: Our graduates get more than just a certificate; they get a foundation for a healthy, happy life.
