Bel was born in Wollongong and grew up in Figtree. From a very young age she was determined to become a vet and began volunteering at Crown Street Veterinary Hospital on weekends. In year 9 they offered her a job as a veterinary nurse and she continued to work as a vet nurse in various vet hospitals throughout high school and university.

She graduated from the University of Sydney in 2003 and commenced work that same year at Albion Park Veterinary Hospital, where she stayed until August 2016 when her fourth child was born.

Bel joined Steve at Companion Animal Veterinary Hospital in September 2017. She has a passion for giant breed dogs, having grown up with Newfoundlands and currently being owned by two of them. She is most interested in their preventative medicine and breeding.

Her other passion is her goats, currently a herd of 8, led by Gizmo the 3-legged goat.

Life is busy, but rewarding, with four boys, 8 goats, 3 dogs, 3 chickens, 1 duck, 1 snake and 5 lizards. In her spare time Bel enjoys walking dogs, horse-riding, kayaking and church.
